Many common health problems, including some that are very severe, have been related to living or working in an environment that is contaminated with toxic mold. One of the worst is the black mold known as “stachybotrys”.
Stachybotrys is a greenish-black mold that grows on materials with a high cellulose content, such as drywall, sheetrock, dropped celing tiles, and wood that becomes chronically moist, due to excessive humidity, water leaks, or flooding. Stachybotrys is believed to cause nervous system symptoms such as personality changes, sleep disorders, memory loss, breathing difficulties, dizziness, flu-like symptoms and bleeding in the lungs.
